Cross Sell Plus Advanced Sell Combo

First off, Thank you for getting this addon updated for v.1.5!

It was the last hurdle I wanted to clear with the latest zencart upgrade.

I noticed a few issues with the 1.0 version of this mod.

admin/images/icons are missing from the download.

ie images/icons/admin_delete.gif

Also, in the SQL code, line 15, TYPE=MyISAM needs to be changed to ENGINE=MyISAM before it can be successfully run.

Other than that, it works as described, atleast on the few items I have created X-sell's for so far. I will try and put it through its paces over the next few days and report any other issues.

Also, as a side note, it works with MagneticOne's Zen Cart manager too!

Hi, first off, thanks for making this mod available. Just what I was looking for!

I am having a problem in that I cannot see the cross sell items I am adding to my products. It appears the admin portion is working correctly, but nothing is showing on my site.

Any ideas where I should start to look? My first thought is I may not have the includes files in the right place. where YOUR_TEMPLATE is listed, I put them in what I believe my template is (had the site built for me by someone else, so still learning.).

I believe I have my includes/templates/templates_default/templates/tpl_product_info_display.php file and includes/languages/english/product_info.php file modified correctly, but can display them here if necessary.

OK, figured it out, turned out I modified the wrong tpl_product_info_display.php file, and it is now operational.

I wasn't getting my cross sell items to show up either, but I too realized that the tpl file that needs the added code is the one in YOUR_TEMPLATE and not in the template_default folder like the directions suggest.

Hi! Appreciate the mod update to 1.5.

Is there a limit on how many single products can have cross-sold products added? We've reached 90 and can't add another.

This is my exact problem, and I have made sure that I followed the instructions to the letter. Also inserted the code in my template tpl files instead of template_default. My Zen Cart version is 1.5.0

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi Folks,

If your not seeing anything popup in the catalog drop down in admin here are the steps to get it to show in the menu there.

Go to admin --> Admin Page Registration

For the page key you can enter what ever you want to title it

Page name is BOX_CATALOG_ADVANCED_XSELL_PRODUCTS

Page Filename is FILENAME_XSELL_ADVANCED_PRODUCTS

Page Parameters, leave blank

Menu, choose catalog

Check the checkbox for display in menu

Enter a number for the sort order, whatevery you want

And thats it, if you want to use the original cross sell page and not the advance cross sell you can download the original cross sell module and navigate to admin/boxes/extra boxes/ open the file in there and you'll see the appropriate keys to register another page.

Hi:

I am trying to download the plug in but am having a problem that I've never seen before. When I try to extract the zip file to my computer I get an error message. It says: Path too long. cross_sell_plus_advanced_registration_page.php.

When I try to bypass the message every file seems to be there except for includes/functions/extra_functions/ this folder is empty.

Could someone point me in the right direction?

Unzip it to your Root or C: drive in a folder call it downloads or something. Place the file in your downloads folder then unzip.

I too am having problems. My admin has the Advance Cross sell and the Cross sell dropdown.. Where should I see the cross sell items on my webpage https://www.usaofficesupplies.com/oemsupplies.com.

I edited the 2 files they are located in

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

1. FIRST MAKE A FULL BACKUP OF YOUR WEBSITE'S FILES AND DATABASE!

Open zip file if you get error message “Path too long”

Copy file to desktop open zip file and rename the file (short name) and copy back to your install folder.

2. Rename the /admin/ directory to match your own admin directory folder name.

3. Using the Admin->Tools->Install SQL Patch, run the included SQL file (products_xsell.sql)

4. Upload the admin directory module files to your admin directory.
   ** You will need to refresh your admin interface to load the new menu item.

menu -> Admin -> Catalog -> Cross Sell Products

**5. Rename the /includes/languages/English/YOUR_TEMPLATE
And /includes/modules /YOUR_TEMPLATE
And /includes/templates/ YOUR_TEMPLATE
directory to match your own admin directory folder name. **

5a. Upload all supplied files in their appropriate folder structure in /includes/,

6. Open includes/languages/english/product_info.php
   or includes/languages/english/YOUR_TEMPLATE/product_info.php
   and define the language you would like to use in the following example format.

         **define('TEXT_XSELL_PRODUCTS', 'We Also Recommend :');**
   
    or
   
         **define('TEXT_XSELL_PRODUCTS', 'Related Products');**
   

   just above the final ?> and save it into
   includes/languages/english/YOUR_TEMPLATE/**product_info.php

7. Edit your product-info template file

   and insert the following code at the point where you wish the Cross-Sell box
