Is there a newer version of these instructions?

I have followed these instructions 4 times and each time my site spreads all the way across the page and loses the look of the classic template. All I really want to do it keep the template, add my custom header and remove the "stock" items.

Clearly, I am missing something or something is missing. Any assistance is appreciated.

then use the style sheet out of the classic folder and place it in your new template. Because it says template default does not mean you can't use a different one.

If you want to base your custom template on Classic, copy all /classic/ folders and their contents to /your_template/ (whatever you want) folders in the same locations. Then follow the instructions for editing template_info.php if you have not already done it.
