Changing width in CSS #mainwrapper is making entire site text scaled up?

Hi, this is my 2nd zen cart site, my last I built up in fall 2010 so I'm rusty with some stuff,

When I change the width like shown in https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/index.php?article=46 my entire sites font changes and things are not lined up properly.

All I did is change width from 750 to 874 as thats my new width for my header_bg image I would like to use.

I have searched FAQs and cannot find resolution for my issue, please help if you can.

A link to your site would help as we cannot guess from your description what the problem will be as changing a width would not effect the fonts.

However if you forgot to close the declaration or made an error in the css then that may cause the issue
