Migrating from OSCommerce to ZenCart

Hi all

You have probably been asked this loads of times before, but I would like to migrate a website form oscommerce to Zen cart.

Could someone point me in the direction fo a good how to guide or even better, some good advice?

I have gone through your documentation but nothing and I've also googled the term and theres basically nothing of help.

Thats sound advice gilby, but have you tried any of those threads? The first one points to the Data importer addon (which is OK) The 2nd one follows through to an old FAQ link that now doesn't exist and the third thread is closed as it was sort of set up as a poll.

Don't get me wrong I am grateful for any advice, but I have been looking for this for a while, hence why I asked on the forum. :laugh:

It was the first one that was relevent.
The data importer!

Best to first download and setup a current version of Zen to get a feel for the program and its differences from osC

You can then play with the templating to get the look and feel or your current site, if thats what you want.

Try to import your current database using the converter to see you get what you need.
and that it all works correctly.

By then you should almost be done and ready to go live.
(I know its not quite as simple as that as there is a lot to learn on the way)

Ok, well thanks for that, I was going to develop it on XAMPP first anyway.
