Text Attributes dont show up in my cart.

I'm on 1.3.9h and cant seem to get my text attributes to show up in my cart.

I see a previous post where a guy has the same problem and fixes it by rolling back to 1.3.9f

Is this the only way I can fix this problem? Anything else I can check? If I have to do this will I be able to restore my site from a backup easily?
