CKEDITOR missing from list of editors in admin

I have uploaded the files for the ckeditor mod (via ftp) and when I log into the admin, it is not available in the drop down list. "Plain Text" is the only thing listed. I recently upgraded to Zen Cart version 1.5, by uploading files, downloaded from the Zen Cart site, via ftp and going through the official upgrade procedure. The attempt to install cdkeditor was performed after the upgrade.

Any help to get this working would be appreciated.

I just installed that mod in a fresh 1.5.0 installation and it appears and works as expected. I'd guess that you uploaded the files to the wrong place(s), missed some files, or there was a problem uploading one or more files.

I have uploaded and re-uploaded the files via ftp, several times now. Making sure I did not miss any (there are only two directories to upload, kind of hard to miss files) of the files. I have checked the server, comparing the files located in the ckeditor directories located on my computer, and all the files are there and accounted for on the server. I even renamed the "admin" folder to match the one that was renamed on my server. Doesn't appear that missing files is the reason for it not working.

I suspect you've fixed it. I'm banging my head against a wall trying to figure out what I've done wrong. There has to be something I'm missing.

The option will only show in the pulldown if the files have been copied to the correct locations. That is, the locations indicated by the folders contained in the zip file. Remember the "admin" folder needs to be changed to match the name of YOUR admin folder. Other than that, all the files go into exactly the same place on your server as they are in the zip file.

I am new and just got ZenCart installed and I want to install CKEditor. My question is do you have to install all of these files separately by breaking them down on my computer or can I just install all of the folders in admin (renamed)?:

/admin/includes/ckeditor.php goes to your website into your existing /renamed-admin/includes/ folder.
/admin/includes/languages/english/extra_definitions/editors_list.php replaces your existing /renamed-admin/includes/languages/english/extra_definitions/editors_list.php file.
/admin/includes/languages/english/extra_definitions/ckeditor.php is added to your /renamed-admin/includes/languages/english/extra_definitions/ folder
/editors/ckeditor/ (the entire folder) gets copied to your /editors/ folder

BTW, I am using Filezilla so it is no problem to upload all of it.

I'm not sure I understand the question, but let me say this: All the files need to get onto your server in the destination described in the instructions. How you do that is up to you. In the purest sense, yes they are copied one by one.

Once you've used your FTP program for awhile you'll have a better idea of how to improve efficiency in how you use it. When uncertain, do them one by one so you know they've been put into the right place.

Please can anyone help i am new to zencart and having this problem, i have followed the instructions, changed the admin name etc, i used dreamweaver to upload the files to the public folder but the html editor is still not showing, i have tried several times and spent hours trying to resolve but getting nowhere can anyone help, thank you

I am having the same issue on the ckeditor install. I double checked the file locations as they are given in the readme.html. It says to upload them to the renamed admin folders which I did. I excluded the file that says it is not needed in v1.51 and uploaded the editor files to the editors directory.

I have no clue what I could have done wrong. I would appreciate any ideas or help.

I tried but all that is listed is Plain Text which is why I know something is wrong with the installation despite me uploading the files several times.

If it does not show up there are only a few possibilities:

1. The mod was not installed correctly.
2. Some other mod is "breaking" it.
3. The custom template.
   Since this mod lies solely in the admin, numbers two and three are unlikely.

I have compared the mod files with the files in admin and the files are there where they should be. Since I am using v1.51 there are only 2 files that go in admin. I also compared all the files in the editor directory and they all uploaded as well.

There is no other mod conflicting with it as this is the first mod I installed.

So I am clueless as to what could be wrong.

When you posted, you indicated 1.5.0 and now 1.5.1. Are you using the latest CKEditor mod? There is one that works with 1.5.0 and does not work with 1.5.1.

The 1.50 was an error/typo on my part, my sincere apologies.

When I downloaded the mod I clicked on "download the latest" and there is a not in the readme that indicates if you are using 1.51 not to include one of the files as it is only for 1.50 and another previous version (can't remember right now which one). So I am assuming that I downloaded and installed the 1.51 version.

3. unzipped the ckeditor plugin package
4. uploaded the 2 files from the unzipped /admin/ folder to the corresponding folders on my server's 'abcdefg' folder
5. uploaded the ckeditor folder from the unzipped /editors/ folder to my server's /editors/ folder
6. logged into my zencart admin
7. ckeditor shows in the places where it is expected to show

1. my admin folder has already been renamed
2. went in via ftp and deleted the two mod files previously uploaded
3. uploaded the two files again via ftp into my renamed admin
4. logged into zencart admin
5. Opened "My Store"--->Html Editor setting
6. Only option available is still "Plain Text"
