I want to know how should I set the server program?

Hello, I have a matter with my website now. After I installed ubuntu system, I installed MySQL, Apache, PHP and phpMyAdmin in the server. My website is using Zen-Cart, now my issues is I can’t use the PHP of Zen Cart to send emails. I want to know how should I set the server program? Thank you.
