Ajeh I appreciate you so very much!

That "_" instead of the "." was the issue to the problem of installing the latest usps module. Then with the latest module, all I had to do was select the "max" weight to allow for the usps service. So by typing in 40 for the max weight allowed for USPS priority.... anything over that weight will not show a USPS shipping quote in the shipping estimator. EXACTLY what I needed.
