ZX Slideshow support thread

Hi, brand new here and took a while but finally got the slider working on my template monster template. I was surprised they had no idea how to get it working :) in any event, it works great now accept i cannot figure out how to remove this shaded box at the bottom of each image slide (where it says cute2) and get rid of the title as well.

You'll be even more surprised to know that Template Monstrosity doesn't really know ANYTHING about Zen Cart.. yet they keep churning out their templates as if they do.. Anyway I digress..

a link to your actual site will help folks help you get to the bottom of your issue.. A screen shot isn't helpful at all in this regard..

I'd need a link to your site to tell you exactly what to do. If you're using an older version of ZX Slideshow (I know many templatemonster templates come preinstalled with it), there's a switch in the admin config. If you're not comfortable with sharing a link, you can PM me with the link, but all further discussion will take place in the public section so that other people might benefit from the answers.

The only other thing I might be interested in are those "slideshow numbered navigation" circles. I can turn them on and off, but they appear below the banner images. My images are 940x480. is there any way to make those slideshow circles appear inside the image and to the bottom right?

You could try the following: edit includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/css/index_home.css and find .nivo-controlNav which is used by your theme (theme-light, theme-dark etc.) and change styling to this:

text-align:center;
    padding: 15px 0;
    position: absolute;
    top: 90%;
    right: 10%;
    z-index: 5;

You might need to increase z-index if bullets are not visible.

I haven't tested this so I'm not sure if it will work. Let us know if it worked. :)

I ended up tweaking the numbers a bit and it came out nice!

text-align: center;
padding: -20px 0;
position: absolute;
top: 80%;
right: 17%;
z-index: 5;

Yes, definitely need more info. From the screenshots, I'd say you didn't install it properly because I have never seen that happen... Please keep in mind that a URL to the site is really needed if you want any help - I can't go guessing what you did wrong or what you could do to fix it... :wink:

I do not think the module has been installed incorrectly because it worked for about 1 year with no problems ...

Yes, there's a very simple way to determine which version you're using. Take a look at the configuration options in admin. There are 3 possible situations:

1. If you have options to set width and height, you're using version 1.0.
2. If you don't have those options AND last config line doesn't mention slideshow version, you're using 2.0
3. If the last line in configuration shows slideshow version, well, try guessing which version you have... :wink:

OK, I've looked at the configuration options and I see that I have ZX Slideshow v.1 installed. I'm trying to upgrade to the latest version and I've tried to uninstall the current version by running the following MySQL query:

SET @configuration_group_id=0;
SELECT @configuration_group_id:=configuration_group_id 
FROM configuration_group
WHERE configuration_group_title= 'ZX Slideshow Configuration'
LIMIT 1;

DELETE FROM configuration WHERE configuration_group_id = @configuration_group_id;
DELETE FROM configuration_group WHERE configuration_group_id = @configuration_group_id;

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to make a difference. I can still access ZX Slideshow from admin as if nothing has changed.

Maybe I'm missing something very simple...? :lookaroun

i use version 2.0 , how can resolve my visualizations problems?!!

I have installed this mod in my ZC 1.5.3 and it was working, but then updated jQuery to the newer version of 1.11 and now the slider has disappeared. Is this not compatible with the newer versions of jQuery?

It IS compatible with all newer versions of jQuery, I'm just not sure about jQuery 2. Take a look at the demo - it's using 1.11.1 and works just fine. I'm sure this is something on your end that needs debugging...

I have no idea what you did, but I'm sure you missed something. Since the module is disabled, plus home page is redirected to another product, I'm not really sure how you expect to get any help... All I can do is take a look at my magic crystal ball and ask it to tell me what's happening... And, unfortunately, it's still not telling me... :wink:

To be honest, I'm not sure... I'd suggest removing it from phpMyAdmin manually - that's probably the simplest and bulletproof option. Make sure you backup your database before doing anything.

For some unknown reasons I can't find 'ZX' in the Admin > Configuration menu. I just installed Zen-Cart 1.5.3 on CentOS, and did the MySQL patch too. ZX version was zx_slideshow.4.

Where shall I look to fix that problem? I thought the menu item should show up with the right file in the right directory.

For the renamed file I renamed zx_slideshow.4/files/includes/templates/Avalon to zx_slideshow.4/files/includes/templates/mytheme

I wonder where my error is?
