Small problem with site after changing search_button.gif

Hello.

I'm pretty new to zen cart.

I've been able to update what I've wanted to fine, but got a little carried away when changing a 'search button' gif.

This has resulted in my website dysfunctioning.

Please take a look at www.usbman.co.uk and see if you are able to help me return the site back to its former glory!

Many thanks for your time!

In that case there is more to this story than what you have told us. What else did you change besides the .gif?

What template are you using? Try reverting back to the 'classic'. does the problem go away?

Cheers
Rod

Re: Small problem with site after changing search_button.gif

Hi Rod, thanks for taking the time to post.

Previous to it all going wrong, I changed the search_button.gif

A hard refresh before that, it was all fine and dandy.

And before that, I'd altered image sizes, font colours in the stylesheet.css

Thanks

I've done some more investigating.

  1. Try temoving your google googleanalytics.

If that doesn't solve it, try:

  1. Restore your stylesheet
includes/templates/template_default/css/stylesheet.css (using an original copy from the distribution files).
NOTE: You should NOT be editing this file directly anyway. Use the overrides OR create a new stylesheet with just your changes, but make sure it loads after the default stylesheet. (these are loaded in alphabetical order).

I'm pretty sure that this'll solve your problems.

Cheers

It Looks like you posted this message as I was composing my latest reply.

My money is on the stylesheet.css. I can't say what or where you went wrong, but this is almost certainly the file causing the problem

Cheers
Rod.

<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="includes/**templates/template_default**/css/stylesheet.css" /> <script type="text/javascript" src="includes/**templates/usbman**/jscript/jscript_imagehover.js"></script>

You've somehow messed up your templates.

Hi, thanks for your reply.

What would be the next step in terms of fixing the template?

Thanks again for your time

Re: Small problem with site after changing search_button.gif

Zencart should be calling in stylesheets and other template components from your CUSTOM template - NOT from "template_default". Just why yours is doing this, is unclear, and would need someone to "look under the hood". There could be several causes, but it would be pointless listing all the probable causes here, because it could be a combination of several mis-configurations, faulty or missing files, bad settings, etc.

You may need to hire someone to take a look.
