Server Going to be upgraded to MySQL 5.1 - need a quick patch

I know I found this page on the form that told me how to upgrade 1.3.8a to work with mysql 5.1

My Server is going to be upgrading me soon.. And have no time to upgrade to the newest version of Zen cart - I will but just don't have time at this moment..

I know i have seen this very simple patch - but cant find it sens i reinstalled my computer a while ago..

Any help on this would be great.

(Yes I will upgrade soon)

  1. I don't know what patch you're talking about. As far as I know there was never any patch issued to make 1.3.8 compatible with any particular MySQL version.

  2. v1.3.8 is obsolete, not compatible with contemporary versions of PHP, and is nearly FIVE YEARS old. Forum members have been notified of these security problems repeatedly in the last several years and encouraged to upgrade. The "patch" is to use v1.3.9 or newer.

Not having time to upgrade is a poor excuse to continue running V1.3.8a, just as running to catch a bus is a poor excuse to leave your doors unlocked. You are not doing yourself, your customers, or any one else any favours by keeping this store running. If you don't have time to upgrade you should put it in maintenance mode until you can find the time.

It takes a couple of hours (tops) to do the upgrade. It could take a day or two to find and repair the damage caused by a hack, plus the time to do the upgrade so that you don't get hacked again.

If you can't find the couple of hours needed now, how do you expect you'll cope when you find you've left it too late?

Just saying...

Cheers
