Maintaining Product Sync between two store Instances ...?

Hello ZC Nation,

I am installing Zen Cart for a client. (Company A)

They are providing marketing services for another company (Company B) with an existing installation of Zen Cart and sales each day.

(Company A) wants to mirror and market same categories and products of (Company B) ... and easily retrieve updates whenever (Company B) adds/edits/deletes products/categories, etc.

(Company A) also wants to maintain the flexibility to have their own products as well.

My strategy was to maintain a (Store A) which we sync with (Company B) and pull in their adds/edits/deletes ... (Is there a plugin for that ?)

And then have another (Store B) with categories and products only for (Company A)

Ideally, (Company B) can log into (Company A's) back office and fullfill orders and not be able to see orders and clients from (Store B)

Can I get some pointers and architectural advice and counsel ??

I think you are looking at 3 separate things
1.) Company B updated by changes from Company A
2.) Company B Push the orders to Company A
3.) Company B logging into Company A and only see company B's Orders

1.) I would start with the easy populate module and create a few cron jobs
a.) Company A Export
b.) move file from A to B
c.) Company B Import
Now it is important that you should strip Company B's site of any other products as it may create duplicates the first time.

2.) You would have to create some sort of module that will allow B to create a file send to A and then B would add the orders, try starting with a drop shipper module, also I would make all Orders from company B be assigned to lets say Group B

3.) I would recommend starting with Admin profiles and then modify it so they can only see orders from Group B

If someone else has better thoughts, let me know.

You could always just use the same product table from the same database for both shops. Would that not do?
