site in IE doesnt match the site in Firefox

Hi all,

The html/css code written for Firefox runs beautifully but in internet explorer two errors stand out. when you go the my product info pages the addition images are not aligned and the cross sell box on the right is supposed to slide upwards and stand to the right of the price and title of the item. Any ideas of what might fix it?

Any information would be helpful
Thanks

Firstly, I would run through the issues preventing the page from validating:

http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.homelinencollections.com%2FLuxury-Bed-Sheets%2F300-Thread-Count-Sheets%2FElite-Home-300-Thread-Count-Carleton-Dot-Printed-Bed-Sheet-Set&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0

It is coming up with 75 issues and 38 warnings.

Generally, you'll find that the way Firefox and Internet Explorer try and interpret what you actually meant in the code can be quite different. Resolve the issues highlighted so that you know you have good, clean code and you'll find that, if that in itself hasn't fixed the problem, it will be much easier to see where the problem is.

Cheers

Managed to drop those numbers down but still didn't make a difference. What else could be the source of the problem?

Thanks

They probably wouldn't make any difference. Validated HTML is 9/10 times not the problem, more a CSS issue.

If you have missing closing div and li tags, for example, browsers can display these differently depending on where they thought you 'meant' to have the closing tags. Poor HTML can certainly mess up a page layout.
