malware on my site

A customer has warned me that his norton security has blocked my site from installing a virus.
I'm running an old version of ZC because I am not sure my template is compatible with the newer versions. Any help appreciated.

Re: malware on my site

You are using a very old and vulnerable version of Zen Cart. Of course your are going to be hacked and have malware. This is what happens when you don't upgrade. There really is no excuse. You have had 5 years to prepare your upgrade and make arrangements but you chose to do nothing. You can NOT fix your existing store, you must upgrade.

Now you are forced to shut down your store, do a hack cleanup and then upgrade regardless if you think your template can do it or not. The only other thing you can do is abandon your files and take your database and pictures to a new upgraded fileset. Basically a store rebuild.

While qdixon's tone is pretty "strong", he's correct: You need to do a thorough cleanup, and then an upgrade. If you don't do the upgrade then you'll get hacked again, unfortunately.
