Easy way to turn off Pricing Meta Tag for all products?

I'd like to turn off the pricing meta tag for all products - is there any easy way to do this without editing ALL of them?

Thanks in advance...

Re: Easy way to turn off Pricing Meta Tag for all products?

You mean turn off the price so it doesn't show in meta title?

Try admin/configuration/product info...should be third from bottom.

That may not work if you have custom product metatags. So you should be able to do this with Easy Populate, we're using the new EP4. It has an area to enable/disable price meta tag per product:

v_metatags_price_status

thanks, but will this setting override all my custom meta tags? i've defined all my meta tags (custom) opting to include the price and now I'd like to turn it off for all of them without editing each tag.

I believe that setting would only apply to the price meta tag. But save your DB and try it. We've always set ours to off, although we sometimes have custom meta tags for title, description, keyword.

We just crossed emails, and above I also remembered that Easy Populate can change meta settings on a per product basis. But again, with EP always save the DB before any upload.

Relevant EP field:

yeah, when custom defined the other settings make no diff. i have custom meta tags for all products so a pain in the arse to go back and set each one.

Re: Easy way to turn off Pricing Meta Tag for all products?

A bit of a pain, but your All Products only shows 116, so shouldn't take too long in admin.

My main site shows over 3000 products, and for that I'd use Easy Populate...and fortunately, with EP4 I can work category by category, making it more manageable.

Actually, in EP, I'd just set the whole meta price column to "0", turning off all my product meta prices in one swoop. That should only take minutes.

Re: Easy way to turn off Pricing Meta Tag for all products?

I use EP4 on 1.3.9h and 1.5 without problems.

However, if you want to go the EP solution (and you might want EP anyway, if you don't already have one - and I don't think all EP versions do metas) you should continue this on the EP4 support thread at All Other Contributions.

Re: Easy way to turn off Pricing Meta Tag for all products?

Yes, every EP I'm aware of goes off the model. You might go to the EP4 thread anyway to see if there is an easy way to fix this, as you will like EP anyway.

Anyway, I just made sure it will work with meta pricing and it did on this product on a secondary site:

http://www.promdressesforless.us/alyce-6116-p-344.html

Price is in the title in view source. Rest of products are set to "0", as normal for me.

Back to your issue, looks like you'll be spending a couple of hours in admin. While your at it with the meta price, maybe you should add model nos. for Easy Populate. To make it easier, we usually use the same as the product name, not sure how that'll work for you. And characters are limited in number, unless change it (as I recall, in db.)

Just note that all model numbers have to be unique...no duplicates.
