Template not showing all selected sideboxes

I posted a while ago about the comstock template not showing all the selected sideboxes.
I have now installed the ZenCart Zen template & I am having the same problem.
When using the classic green template all the sideboxes appear.
Could it be a compatibility issue since the current template was made for zencart v.139?
I am setting up a new store so this is a fresh install & no other mods have been made.

It would help to know what sideboxes aren't displaying. Some don't show up unless they have content.

The sideboxes that aren't showing up are: manufacturer info, best sellers, shopping cart & order history.
I populated the manufacturer info with name & image but it didn't show up.

I tested this template awhile back, it worked okay.

Bestsellers won't show until something is "sold", can even be you doing practice sales. Shopping cart needs something in the cart and Order History will need an order. Make sure these are turned on in layoutboxes controller.

Not sure about Manufacturers, if you have to have products assigned to them. Do you?

EDIT: just saw your Comstock thread, same issues. It doesn't help that site is down for maintenance.

Thanks for the input..I assigned the manufacturer to the products and it showed up. I'm sure the other boxes will show up once an order is placed.

There's a switch in admin that will display the shopping cart sidebox all the time if you want it to.

Ok I'll look into it. Its been 4 years since I have set up a zencart store but its slowly coming back to me.

I appreciate all the help.
