Install the shipping modules

Hey you guys,

i am taking care of an online shop for selling vinyl. the shop has ben build for ages but never really went on the line cause the guy who actually programmed it could not finish the shipping-module.

what i need to do is findin a way to ship producs in:

"Zone 1": 'always 3.50€ no matter how much weight it is'
"Zone 2": '< 500 g= 5.50€ < 1000 g= 9.00 € < 2000 g = 12.00 € ........'
"Zone 3": '< 500 g= 5.50€ < 1000 g= 9.00 € < 2000 g = 16.00 € ........'
"Zone 4": '< 500 g= 5.50€ < 1000 g= 9.00 € < 2000 g = 20.00 € ........' and so on....

one main question first: where do i find out what unit my shop uses for weight!? i would like to switch to "gramm"

second question: is it possible to use just one module for all theses zones!? at the moment i tried "shipping per weight" , "shipping per zones" ... but it was always an attribute missing ... or maybe i am too blind to see :frusty:

Before you tackle any of this, you MUST upgrade to at least version 1.3.9h.

Your version (1.3.7) is VERY shaky now... and is a feast for hackers...

If the store has never been "used", you might want to consider starting from scratch on version 1.5.

It may seem like a "lot" of work to start again... but it might be a good option in your case.

We recently took on a Zc site that had been "off" for more than 18 months (the original owner passed away, sadly).

The new owner wanted to keep the product data, but as the shop had only ever made a handful of sales, retaining customer data did not matter.

We used Easy Populate to export all the product data, and when the new 1.5 store was ready, we IMPORTED all the products into the new store (this time using Apsona ShopAdmin).

The new store took just over a day to create and to populate with product data...

but you seem to have pretty much knowledge about ZC - i am more the newbie ... is it easier to install the shipping zones in v1.5 !?

i`d be willing to update the shop but i have NO IDEA how ... can you give me a quick detailed overview on what to do ??
