Transferring database to new server

I am in the middle of transferring our zencart eStore to a new hosting provider. However, I do not have access to phpmyadmin/the database server. Our sys admin with full access was seriously injured, and will be hospitalized for at least several weeks.

I have full admin access to the backend of our site and pretty much full access to the files. Is there a way I can get my hands on a database backup through the backend?

I do not have personal experience with any of these (backup plugins), but check the Plugins section of this site. The first result for 'database backup' is Backup ZC which states compatibility with 1.5 and the ability to backup the database.

And when you have moved your store you really should upgrade it to 1.3.9h if not even 1.5. Ideally do it before you move but I suspect you wish to move sooner rather than later.

Yes, I've been itching to do the upgrade, but our old server is running a very old version of PHP. We're working on updating everything, and cleaning up a lot of the site. It's been a slow process.
