How to change Category link color in left sidebox?

Looking for help in changing the category link color in a sidebox (left). Appreciate your help in finding this element in the stylesheet. I have been thru it top to bottom and must have just missed it. I saw another older post that stated this was not possible, but I'm hoping that recent fixes have corrected this.

My aim is to change the color from the default green in the Classic Contemporary template in Zencart 1.3.5 to something that matches better. Thanks in advance for your help, and to all those wonderful knowledgeable helpers who post to this forum in such detail.

It has always been possible to change the category sidebox link colors. The basic rule would be
#categories a {color: #aabbcc;}
and this can be extended for more specific situations and kinds of categories.
Seeing your site live, with a description of exactly how you want the links to behave, will let us give the best advice.

You should be using the template override system to replace the Classic template with your own custom version; read the tutorials if necessary.

The stock Classic stylesheet has rules for a.category-top and similar selectors.

Many thanks. See video-tutorials.net; there is a side-box called "Categories" near the left-top. The links are green (yes, Classic template), but I want them to be black, rolling over to a different color when hovered over etc. :-)

Change color: #008000 to #000000

A.category-top, A.category-top:visited {
color: #008000;
text-decoration: none;
}

If you need the hover add this, and change color to your likes

A.category-top:hover {
color: #008000;
}
