Biki-kini Template Support Thread

fonzie:

I do have a problem though, some of my categorynames are rather long, and in the drop-down menu, they take up two lines, I changed the width of the columns of the drop-down menu, but the categorynames are still on two lines, unless I use underscores instead of spaces in the names,

how do I resolve this ?

kind regards,
Fons

Can you post a link to your page ?
Thanks

You can actually change the width of the left column from the configuration settings : admin menu -> configuration ->Layout Settings - Column Width - Left boxes.
However, it does seem like some of your category names are quite long. Wondering if shortening them is feasible....However, I do know the language or the store. So, please ignore my comment if it is irrelevant.
Good luck with your store.

Re: Biki-kini Template Support Thread

Thanks for this great template. My question is to do with customising megamenu. Can you give me any advice on how to make the second or third level of subcategory dropdown appear in three or four columns, instead of one ,really long column.I know this can be pretty difficult, but I can see sites that are doing it,so any help at all would be appreciated.

The menu for Information has 3 columns. If that is what you are looking for, then follow the code that is done for information.

my question was not about the left colum, that's a setting in Zen-cart, I was asking about the drop-down menu or mega-menu as it's called, I've changed the width of the colum, but my category names remain on two lines, with an empty space to the right, I would like my category names on 1 line, when I replace the spaces with underscores, the category names stay on 1 line, when I add the spaces again, they return to 2 lines,

kind regards.

Unfortunately Mega menu's width is fixed as a part of the template. However, you can change it by playing with tpl_header.php and css files.

Please excuse me if I am confused. If you are asking about widening the width of the categories drop down menu you can do that in the stylesheet_mega_menu.css file.

Thanks,

Anne

Thanks,

This is not quite correct. In the stylesheet_mega_menu.css does have width declared but it really does not do anything. Actually you can comment out width from mega-wrapper and mega-wrapper .mega-menu and you will not see much difference. The width is already set to 980px which is quite wide for browsers. You can make the width even larger but then the menu becomes lope sided.
Actually the width of the menu and the template is controlled by mainWrapper. So that is why I mentioned about changing tpl_header.php. You may close out the divs and have a custom container for mega menu. I would not recommend just changing the width of the mainWrapper because if you do that, your branding logo etc may get cut off in the smaller browsers.
However, my approach is only "a" approach. There can be other solutions that may work.

The width for the categories drop down menu category names can be made larger by adding this to the stylesheet_mega_menu.css file:

.mega-menu .level2 li a{width:your width here px;}

Making the width wider will cause long category names to show on one line and not two lines. It was my understanding that this is what the poster was trying to achieve.

The original question was:

Thanks so much for your contribution.
I have to admit that I replied from some pre-conceived idea of the problem and I did not spend necessary time to read the problem and browse the website carefully. I apologize for that.
I am glad that problem was solved sooner by another member which is the main focus of the support group.
Thanks again.

I am glad that you liked it. To add links under useful links,

  1. Create a EZ page by going to admin menu -> Tools -> EZ pages
  2. Make sure sideboxes/template//ezpages-drop-menu.php is set to 1 for "single column status" by going to admin menu -> layout boxes controller

Hope all the best for your store.

Re: Biki-kini Template Support Thread

hi i am hoping that someone will be able to help..as this is doing my head in ..
I have tried both templates, this one and one from picaflor.azul ,

My problem is... i can't get facebook to find the product thumbnails, either using the provided share buttons or dumping the product url straight into facebook.

however facebook finds the thumbnails from the index homepage.

and if i revert back to the classic template , facebook finds the thumbnail images from the product pages.

any ideas.. site: https://www.betterprice4u.co.uk

Not sure what you meant by facebook to find product thumbnails. These are the steps I followed.

  1. From Bikikini -green I chose one of the products.
  2. After the page loads, I clicked on facebook icon at the bottom of the product.
  3. After logging into facebook, facebook shows that link was shared. I clicked on the link and it brought me to the product detail page.
  4. I clicked on share and could share it on my timeline.
Now the picture of the product facebook is getting is wrong. However, the link it is posting is correct.

I did this experiementation with Windows Vista and ie 9.

Re: Biki-kini Template Support Thread

Hi,

Where can I change the color of „FREE SHIPPING“ and “Biki kini :: Free Template by www.CREATIVsite.com” on the top of main page?
