Search on custom products table flag field p.products_gift=1

Would love some input on this customization that I need to do.

I have added a field to products table called products_gift as a flag (0 ||1) that indicates a gift item gets mailed when this product is ordered. I have the need to display a link in side box that will produce a page containing list of all products where products.products_gift=1 in format Alpha Manufacturer Name - Item Name.

OR - a search will work fine as long as the only thing that is searched is products_gift=1

Dont worry about the admin of setting the flag. Ive got that covered. Its just the output Im struggling with.

I can work out the details once I get my head around the big picture of where to start with this. Would love some general direction, best place to start? Is there a Mod I can clone etc...

Is this an admin-side product-report you're trying to generate? Is it isolated to "products"? or is it isolated to "orders"? Or what?
