Resetting to Admin/admin login credentials failed

Hi Zen-Cart,

I am starting with a fresh install on a Windows server 2008 (hosted by my company on premise). When I set up the account for Admin area, I idiotically created a very complicated admin name and password, and did not write them down as I should have. I also put my email down for testing purposes, but resetting password via email--well, I never got the email.

I searched the FAQ and forums on how to reset password and came to this tutorial on resetting password: http://www.zen-cart.com/content.php?137

I did as followed, but what has me confused is I see two tables, "admin" and "prefix_admin". I tried modifying both, but still unable to login.

I also modified the row directly without the code in the table itself, and that did not work either. I was wondering if I need to reset admin_name as well.

I have nonexistent knowledge of MySQL, extreme basics of PHP, and I know some basic theories behind programming (studying C language and JavaScript).

Disregard the link in the OP, I thought I linked to the correct page, and when I tried to troubleshoot again by going to the tutorial, turns out it's completely different page. The one part of the page (unable to locate at the moment) talks about running SQL in PHPMyAdmin with the following:

DELETE FROM admin WHERE vox_admin_name = 'Admin';

INSERT INTO admin (admin_name, admin_email, admin_pass, admin_profile)
VALUES ('Admin', 'admin@localhost', '351683ea4e19efe34874b501fdbf9792:9b', 1);

and to later delete default Admin login after I get into the store.

I just tested it on a test site and it works fine. You do need to make sure you're using the correct SQL patch for your Zencart version - 1.3.9 is different from 1.5.0, and add the prefix, if any.

After much sleuthing, I was able to get in. Thanks Stevesh!
