When a customer receives an email and wants to unsubscribe there is not automated action.

Is there a way to allow the users to unsubscribe with a link within the email?

The unsubscribe URL is http://your_site.com/index.php?main_page=unsubscribe
You can simply include that link in your newsletter text if yours isn't already showing it.
