Error on Page can't open

Deprecated: Function set_magic_quotes_runtime() is deprecated in /home/content/k/o/t/kotacouture/html/includes/application_top.php on line 18

this is the statement which appears on home page. I don't actually know what upgrade i have on my site, I have spoken to godaddy and know that they have done some upgrading themself which does something to php. Can someone please help me.

if running Zen Cart v1.3.8, a "quick fix" and/or alternative to upgrading may likely be the following php5/5.3 patch:

That patch will NOT cure all the vulnerabilities in 1.3.8a which is currently officially not supported. You need to follow the steps to upgrade to at least 1.3.9h.
