Strange Symbols appearing in body text

Hi all,

I have some strange symbols appearing in the text on my product pages. They are small diamonds with question marks in the middle.

The text has been directly entered into the site (not pasted from another editor) and the symbols can be erased by doing the following:

1. Going to the page edit screen
2. Deleting the space
3. Saving
4. Opening the page edit screen again
5. Adding the space back in
6. Saving.

Now obviously I cannot instruct the store admin to do this for all of his products each time he adds one! Is there a quick fix?

Please note I have only checked in Safari and Chrome on Mac, but dont think it is a browser specific issue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, im sure its a very simple fix!

Last time I had that it was my editor putting double spaces in, What editor are you using. I use this one http://www.zen-cart.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=1098

i think,
it is caused by the copying the info from other place directly to the website,but the info's coding is different from the website's coding.
as discoverytdi said,you need to download a editor and tell the store admin to change the info's coding into the website's info 's coding,by copying the info into the editor and then change the coding and save ,and finally copy the content at the editor to the website.

When was it last upgraded? How was that upgrade done? By whom?
What addons/mods/plugins are installed?
What languages does this store serve?

You can never, ever, for all time use Microsoft Word. It has always been problematic, but with UTF8 gaining ground it is more of an epidemic now. Good, valid code and text will not create these characters.

Even a single Word ' which is not valid can creak a whole page of UTF8.
