Upgrading to latest version

I need help !
I want to upgrade but I simply do not know how. I have spent at least 3 hours thoroughly reading tutorials supplied by zencart and googling just about every definition to get a better understanding but I am stumped. Is there anyone out there I can give all the details to and they can upgrade it all for me ????????? I need to upgrade because the site is very slow and so is the zencart admin.

What makes you think an upgrade is going to fix the slowness problem?
