Is it Hacking or Corporate Take Over ?
The other day I wrote you (zencart developers) in private I wrote:

Today I wish to tell you,
This is more serious than what people think...way beyond "hacking" its "corporate take over"
Why ?
Here is what i wrote to the word-press devoloper of the wonderful "gridiculous" wp template:

Here it is:
my hosting company (a big one) recently got bought out and ever since then (but especially noticeable in the last year) they have been cutting away the ability for people to edit their files and use word-press or zencart. basically they are slowly "getting rid" of all free (and self developers) website building to make people purchase what ever changes they want to make to their websites (ex: add products or video, etc) they are making so that either you "purchase part" along the way to making your own website or you hire one of THEIR developers to make a website for you.
you cannot even hire your own developer and upload your own files because they are making it impossible to edit/work with your own files. (example: they turn off & on the permissions at random, they close down the file manager in the middle of your session, now usually after a very short period of time and when you log back in your files do not even show up until the next day....they do annoying things like this so no one will want to or be able to work with word press or zencart or any personally developed website of their own again !)
you might think that i am getting overly concerned, but my hosting company also owns one of the other biggest hosting companies and i have a feeling that this company will buy out more and more companies...and then ?
it will soon be the end of the "sky free world" as we know it.
i would be very interested to know what you think, just so i don't have to feel like i am the only one who sees the future undermining of the great many years of all of the hard work, dedication and love thatpeople like you put in to word-press and zencart
i just want to tell you this, because i am just a "small guy"...but maybe some of you "big developers" can see this and get together and do something about this...maybe start your own hosting companies that support word-press and zencart and allow the "small guy/gal" to edit their own files whenever they like.
the sooner the better ! ...before the reputation of zencart & wordpress are ruined by no one being able to use because it doesnt' work, or the files cannot be edited or it is continually mal functioning (as stated why above)
