product attributes selected to load different product UPC's in the cart

Is there a way to make the product attributes to load different product UPC's in the cart

example if a product has more then one flavor.. yet each flavor is loaded into the zenstore itself .. can someone select a flavor from the dropdown other then the products flavor or page they are currently on and hit add to cart and that specific products UPC number will be in the cart for that flavor..??

or can you load different products in the attribute dropdown to be added to the cart like a shortcut from going to each product page to add to cart

No - That is not what an attribute is
It is a modification of a product

Like for instance muscle milk the protein it has lots of flavors they are all muscle milk yet have different UPC's ..

There is no way I can have a dropdown to select what flavor and the attribute selected will put the right UPC in the cart for checkout .??

There is no DB entry for multiple UPC's in a single product

There's no provision in Zencart, nor any mod I'm aware of that will allow you to assign UPCs (or model numbers) to attributes.

Not possible by default Zencart. I can give you some idea how to implement it:

(YOU NEED TO KNOW WORKING WITH ZENCART CODE)

1. Create a new table with 3 fields, products_options_id, products_options_values_id, upc
2. Edit attribute manger tool to add upc for the option value
3. On front end, in shopping_cart page template (includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/templates/tpl_shopping_cart_default.php) make a query to get the upc from the newly created table.

thanks for the response.. unfortunately this is out of my capable scope.. :/ I wish someone would create a module for this type of issue
