Upgrading database 1.3.9 to 1.5.0 Admin password incorrect

I have been trying to upgrade my site from 1.3.9 to 1.5.0 for hours & I continue to run into the same problem. At the bottom of the page it asks for the zencart admin username & password to upgrade. I know I am putting in the correct info because I have it saved in several different places but I always get the error message "admin Password required to proceed with upgrade". Did it change somehow during the 1.5.0 install? Is there a file that has my username & password in it? I am at a loss. I cannot log into my admin area to see the password because I get the error message "database upgrade required. please run the 1.3.9-to-1.5.0 upgrade via zc_install" Can somebody please help me?

Re: Upgrading database 1.3.9 to 1.5.0 Admin password incorrect

The password required to do the database upgrade is the same password as you use to login to your admin back end.

And if you are properly doing your upgrade by staging it in a temporary place first, you will have imported a copy of your live database into a new temporary database for upgrade testing. In that scenario it also relies on the DB_PREFIX and other associated DB_XXXXXX settings to be correct in the configure.php files. The DB_PREFIX must be the same as the DB_PREFIX used in the configure.php files of the site which the original database came from.

Thanks for the reply. I finally figured out the problem. I had my old admin folder still on my site so it wanted me to use that username & password & not the newest one.

Um ... then that means you're using the old database, not the new one.

Yes, I was trying to upgrade my old database to the newest version but needed the admin password to do so.
That's where I was having problems.
