index page referring to a product...

Yesterday when I went to bed, when you loaded my store from root/shop, everything was good. This morning, when I loaded it, it went to root/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=11538 instead of the welcome page.

Any ideas on why and how to fix this?

Thanks,

Clint

Re: index page referring to a product...

what do you mean by "when you loaded it"? How are you navigating to the site/page? Are you just clicking on some bookmark on your computer? What happens if you just type in https://www.yourstorename.com into the URL bar and hit return?

Re: index page referring to a product...

I've experienced this behavior when we had a product in our root level category..

look at categories/products in your admin - is there a red warning about products in top level categories? if so, you'll need to delete the product or move it to a proper category.. if this isn't the cause, you might want to post a link to the store to get some additional feedback.

Bingo! Thank you. When I did a mass upload, I forgot to place a product in a category. Not so bad to just have one off since I uploaded about 3,000 products last night!

Thanks!

Re: index page referring to a product...

i've found over the years that once in awhile easypopulate will throw a product or two in the top level category (older versions anyway). Normally it should error out and say "no existing category for this new product".. i routinely update thousands of products - so i've just gotten used to checking. Once in awhile i'll get lazy, and get that dreaded phone call.. :)

glad you got it sorted.
