Installing v151 with Php PHP 5.2.13

I would like to install a fresh installation with ZC version 151 and the requirements tell me it needs PHP 5.2.14 or higher.

My hosting provider gives me PHP version 5.2.13.

Could I get lots of problems with installing the 151 and my php version 5.2.13?

Re: Installing v151 with Php PHP 5.2.13

If they offer a one-click install of Zen Cart, you will be able to use it with 5.2.13.

If they don't have a one-click install, you will have to upload the files yourself and run zc_install, but you will have to edit the zc_install php code to bypass the version check for 5.2.14, else it won't let you install.

Of course, it's always recommended to use the minimum specified versions because there are reasons for those being the specified minimums. In this case 5.2.14 is preferred over 5.2.13 simply for PCI reasons.

Zen Cart v1.5.1 will technically function with PHP 5.2.10 and newer without coding problems imposed by the PHP version.

Re: Installing v151 with Php PHP 5.2.13

They are upgrading to Php 5.3.17.

My old ZC store is now at version 1.3.7 and I need some time to install a new ZC store. Will my ZC store 1.3.7 work with Php 5.3.17?

I have the exact same problem with the installation, only a have PHP version 5.2.9. It is supposed to be all right, but I get an error message. Please, what are the file name and line[s] in the installation program that I need to bypass? (I suppose by making it into a comment?) I am new at this :-)

Zen Cart v1.5.1 will technically function with PHP 5.2.10 and newer without coding problems imposed by the PHP version. You would have to get an authoritative opinion on whether it will work on 5.2.9 or what needs to be done to make it so; just bypassing the version check is not safe.

Yes, last night I figured out that the dot isn't really a decimal point and that .9 is actually smaller than .14. I guess I will have to check into getting it updated.
