Admin menu not working in Opera 12 - Linux

This is the same problem as in this thread
http://www.zen-cart.com/showthread.php?197559-Fixed-v1-5-1-Admin-Menus-don-t-work-in-Opera-12-for-Windows - drop down menus off the page to the left.
I'm running Opera 12.02 and Linux. I tried the zen cart demo on opensourcecms.com in case the problem was my install but the menus were off the page there as well.

I have tried the fix in the above thread and also putting menu.js from 1.5.1 into my 1.5.0 install neither worked

any ideas?

This morning I purged my admin log and with the fix to the code in http://www.zen-cart.com/showthread.php?197559-Fixed-v1-5-1-Admin-Menus-don-t-work-in-Opera-12-for-Windows everything is now working fine. Just to check if it was something my browser had cached i logged onto http://www.opensourcecms.com/demo/2/96/Zen+Cart and the problem is still there. I haven't yet tried the menu.js file from 1.5.1 since purging my admin log
