Can't get out of maintenance mode???

I upgraded the site because the shipping stopped working. After the upgrade shipping still doesn't work. I have another thread on that already.

But now after having been able to move around the store I put the store as down for maintenance while I get that straightened out. Well I can't get it out of maint. mode. It show a message in the admin that I am in maint. mode and when I get out of maint. mode the yellow notification in the admin goes away but the store itself is staying in maint. mode???

I even tried to set it up so that the right column doesn't show up when in maint. mode and refresh the screen etc and the right column still shows up while even though I turned it off in the options for when the store is undergoing maint.!!! Tested on another computer to make sure it wasn't computer cache issue on my end.

All computers show it in maint. mode even though it is not in maint. mode.
All computers show the right column while the store actually is in maint. mode.

This happened to me before check in your your_store/includes/configure.php file and make sure everything is currect.

I am away from home so it will have to wait till the morning.

OK I found the problem, the admin/includes config file was pointing to the wrong database. Thanks for the help.
