Change Buy Now/ Add To Cart buttons to show low stock?

Evening!

I am looking to change the buy now/ add to cart buttons to reflect the amount of stock available.

For example, if there were more than 5 items in stock the button would be the normal buy now or ad to cart button. However If there were only 1,2,3 or 4 items in stock the button would change to for example, BUTTON_IMAGE_3_LEFT if there were only 3 items in stock.

This would be for both the products info page and for the products listing page.

Any sugestions, would be great as I do not have a clue, PHP is realy not my strong suit.
