Emailing invoices

Okay, I am helping out a friend.

He is using version 1.3.9h and when a customer places an order, we have it set to send him a copy of the order confirmation email, as well as sending a copy to the person who does his shipping (they are in 2 different states).

He is wanting to know if there is a way for him to set up Zen cart so that the person who does his shipping is also emailed a copy of both the invoice and packing slips that are available from the admin screens regarding orders. (the person doing the shipping does not have access to the admin section of the store and the guy running the store doesn't want to give him access)

So, is there an add-on that will allow for us to set this up the way he wants?

There isn't a plugin I'm aware of that will do that. If he upgrades to Zencart version 1.5.1, he can give the shipper access to just the 'Orders' option with a new Admin Profile.

Possibly you could engineer a system which would give you close to what you are after by doing the following:

Under Configuration, Email Options Set

a) "Send Copy of Order Confrimation Emails To" the email address of the shipper
b) "Send Copy of Admin Order Status Emails To" the email address of the shipper

This way, the shipper will have the order details via (a) and then have the (b) the go-ahead to pack when the administrator designates the order status

You could then further modify the format of the email at (b) to make it look like a packing slip or invoice when printed
