Easyslider unpacking slides in sub category banner

I recently upgraded the "mootwodesigns.com" site. The site owner wanted to have a slider for in-store and external advertising and also have the capability of advertising specific items on the main page. Adding a slider to the mainpage was not feasible because it would mean that she would have to edit the define_main_page directly and upload back to the server each time which is not something she is capable of doing.

So the solution appeared to be to leave the homepage as editable via the Define Pages Editor and add a slider to Banner 3 which I did as follows:

<div id="slider"> <ul> <li><a href="http://mootwodesigns.com/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=211_25"><img src="images/banners/01.jpg" alt="Slide No One" /></a></li> <li><a href="http://mootwodesigns.com/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=211_25"><img src="images/banners/02.jpg" alt="Slide Two"/></a></li> <li><a href="http://www.mootwodesigns.com/forum/index.php?topic=4781.0"><img src="images/banners/03.jpg" alt="Slide Three" /></a></li> <li><a href="http://mootwodesigns.com/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=47_387"><img src="images/banners/04.jpg" alt="Slide Four" /></a></li> <li><a href="http://www.mootwodesigns.com/photopost/showgallery.php?cat=846"<img src="images/banners/05.jpg" alt="Slide Five" /></a></li> </ul> </div> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function(){ $("#slider").easySlider({ auto: true, continuous: true, numeric: true }); }); </script>

This works quite well until you click on a Product to access the Product description, then the whole banner unpacks it's individual images above the Product.

I would appreciate your help to find a solution to stop this happening.

Thank you

Re: Easyslider unpacking slides in sub category banner

Well folks I have just spent another 8 hours trying to find a solution to this problem. I have searched this forum high and low and there is nothing that remotely helps me. I guess if no-one is prepared to offer any assistance here I will have to go back to the store owner and tell her "sorry you have to lose your advertising slider or have a crappy looking product info page" because I can't solve this on my own

Re: Easyslider unpacking slides in sub category banner

Having spent all night tossing and turning I came at this with a fresh eye.

My original problem was that I tried to do what Picaflor does by inserting Easyslider7 into the html_includes/YOUR_TEMPLATE/define_main_page.php file. However this is totally incompatible with a consignment store where the owner is used to and likes to edit the Home Page in the Define Pages Editor, because it causes a corruption problem with the scripting placed in there for the slider functionality.

So having searched the forum and not come up with any information on how to prevent this, I tried using the conventional banner manager to do the same thing which worked fine on the Home Page, fine when clicking into a Category, but unpacked all the slides above the Product Info when you clicked on a product to view it.

I eventually found the following tutorial on the web (http://www.kerrinhardy.com/2011/02/21/add-an-automatic-slider-to-your-zen-cart-home-page/) and with a little bit of trial and error in the timings, positioning etc now have a beautiful slider on the home page that is editable via the tpl_index_default.php file in your template overides folder.
