Combine Flat Rate shipping and shipping cost based on weight

Hi Guys,

I've been searching all over the forums and i can't find something similar to what i'm trying to do. can someone please help me?

I've got items in category A that should be charged a flat rate for shipping.

then i've got items in all other categories that should be charged based on their weight. is there a way for me to combine these two shipping methods if someone buys an item from category A and another category?

For example, in my shopping cart i've got a hat from Category A that should be charged $5 for flat rate shipping. Then i've got a shirt from Category B that should be charged based on it's weight. so lets say it costs $2 based on the shirt's weight. My total shipping cost should be $7. is this type of shipping possible?

Thanks for the tip, Kobra. It looks like this is a paid module though. i was hoping for a free solution? Is the advanced shipper the only way we can accomplish this?
