Bullet points in text and line breaks

Hi All

My site here: flsuk.co.uk/onlinestore

No longer shows bullet points in the store when some text is formatted using them with the wwyg editor.

Also the only way to get the site to show a definite space between lines is to enter a two line space.

All this is annoying and frustrating.

Can anyone help with some guidance?

Cheers

Re: Bullet points in text and line breaks

I'm not sure what other info to give.

The pages can be seen here: flsuk.co.uk/onlinestore

Search for Backgammon and we have had to insert "*'s" instead of the bullets as they will not work.

BUT some text does from before we changed the template to the one we have.

Re: Bullet points in text and line breaks

In order to have proper UTF8 bullet points like you want they must be a list.

<p>
	* Foldable leather look playing board with 24 grey and red contrasting points</p>
<p>
	* Size of open board 19 x 24 x 1.5 inches (47.5 x 60 x 3.75cm)</p>
<p>
	* Size of closed board 19 x 12 x 3 inches (47.5 x 30 x 7.5cm)</p>
<p>
	* 30 x 36mm light and dark oak wood counters (15 of each colour)</p>
<p>
	* 2 x 12mm dice  </p>
<p>
	* 1 x 16mm doubling dice</p>
<p>
	* Bag for storing checkers and dice</p>

Should instead be

<ul>
<li>Foldable leather look playing board with 24 grey and red contrasting points</li>
<li>Size of open board 19 x 24 x 1.5 inches (47.5 x 60 x 3.75cm)</li>
<li>Size of closed board 19 x 12 x 3 inches (47.5 x 30 x 7.5cm)</li>
<li>30 x 36mm light and dark oak wood counters (15 of each colour)</li>
<li>2 x 12mm dice</li>
<li>1 x 16mm doubling dice</li>
<li>Bag for storing checkers and dice</li>
</ul>

Re: Bullet points in text and line breaks

Hi Melanie

Yes I know. However if you read the thread properly I was saying that this formatting does not work and I also said that we had to manually insert "pretend" bullets in the shape of the stars!!

The point of my thread is as per the first post I made. The wysiwyg editor has the correct formatting and code but this does not show on the page!

So I am looking for a solution to this problem, not the correct php code for how to do it,as I know that already.

Regards

Re: Bullet points in text and line breaks

Then edit the CSS list and paragraph styles........ It has zero to do with Zen Cart, nor the editor. Funny you should assume that I did not properly read your post when you supplied paragraphs as opposed to list code in your example.

stylesheet_tm.css
p{margin:0;padding:5px 0}
ul {padding-left: 20px;list-style-type:circle}

Re: Bullet points in text and line breaks

Melanie

I thought only men should have sore heads!!:-)

I did not supply code as I had not appreciated I would need to as I thought the problem was with the editor not the template, as I did not author the template, I bought it from Template Monster and I would have thought it would deal with this without the need for me to start editing style sheets.

I see what you mean now as I have flipped between 2 or 3 templates and the bullets are fine in all but the template I purchased.

I don't see why I have to edit style sheets that should be correct in a purchase. So I guess I will have to take it up with the vendor.

Cheers

Re: Bullet points in text and line breaks

The stylesheets are not incorrect, they are just not styled how you would like. Bulletless lists for example are a trendy thing right now.
