gift certificates or coupons?

Long story, but I'm trying to help someone raise money for a new van. I want to create either a gift certificate or coupon as a reward for those who contribute to her efforts. Which is better to give out?

Re: gift certificates or coupons?

Gift Certificates are "guaranteed" money whereas Discount Coupons can have an expiration date so the "reward" does not sit there forever unused ...

Re: gift certificates or coupons?

Thanks, Ajeh! I couldn't remember what the difference was. Coupon is the better idea then.

Re: gift certificates or coupons?

Yes, in this case it would be. Since gift certificates have an actual cash value, there's also more accounting involved with them.
