Admin links return to login page when SSL enabled

Hi,

I have just migrated servers and I am having a problem with my SSL admin. When enabled, after I log in I get to the main admin screen, but if I click anything I just end up at the log in screen again. I have no errors showing up.

I have read through various topics for this and have found no answer. I have checked all my configure.php files and used the fix_cache_key.

I have a feeling it is something to do with a cached session but I could be wrong,

Btw, everything else works fine on the site and the admin works with SSL disabled.

Post the contents of your admin configure.php file here, without the DB password

Have you cleared your browser's cache and cookies? Is this "shared SSL" or "dedicated SSL"?

Problem resolved now.

Turns out some of the configure files in the secure subdomain folder needed to have the folders reconfigured to point to the secure folder. I thought only the references to the SSL would need to be changed but it turns out not so. Strange as this worked fine on the other server and this was a direct cpanel migration.

Anyway, my new host got this sorted.

I thought only the references to the SSL would need to be changed but it turns out not so.Under normal circumstances only the URL needs changing, and only in the configure.php file. And in a server move also the paths need to be set correctly, also in the configure.php file.
But from what you said your resolution was, it sounds like your new host has a more (and probably unnecessarily) complicated setup.

If you have any more problems with odd behavior with your site, make sure you get your host involved early, because the problem could very well be theirs.
