Bookshelf template not right in my 1.51

Have installed a demo/test store for 1.51 and am in process of trying to get customizations back in place, such as using the Bookshelf template and setting up free shipping zone for US 48 continental states. In bringing over the template (did not see an updated Bookshelf template), I have gone through the admin and matched layout boxes controller and product listing to the 1.39 settings, as I had alot of things turned off or customized, and when I select the Bookshelf template it does not look or behave right, though the classic/default one does. It has alot of columns and I can't figure out how to make the text near the top (ezpages:: etc.) go away or to make the listing appear on the left (important links), even though the layout box controller is set like the old one.

I also installed the column layout grid, as I was using it in regular store and matched those column/row settings. What do I need to know about using the Bookshelf template, or is there a similar one available that will work better in 1.51? Screenshot shows what it looked like before, and what it is now. What settings might I be missing? Thank you!

Have you checked for any debug*.log files in your store's /logs directory? It looks like you're experiencing a partial white/blank page since your categories sidebox does not appear in the new store.

Thank you, found the logs you mentioned, yes there were lots of debugs. In the old store, I was using the hide categories add-in, and the debug logs are telling me TABLE_HIDE_CATEGORIES' doesn't exist, so I will install in new store. I really appreciate the help and am hoping this resolves, thank you.

Re: Bookshelf template not right in my 1.51

Thank you, lat9, that was it. Installing the Hide Categories plugin corrected the problem!
