CURL Error - Yahoo hosting

I am trying to install a site on a Yahoo hosted domain.

I get the curl error:
CURL requires SSL support. Please notify webmaster or hosting company. 77 => Problem with the SSL CA cert (path? access rights?)

I have never had this issue before. Any suggestion on how to correct? I searched and found different answers for the same questions. I called yahoo and they very helpful (not) person told me that I needed to create an SSL folder and put everything with the store inside that folder and it will all work like magic. That is not the answer that will fix this issue, I don't believe.

Software: Filezilla, Crimson editor

hahah It's funny that you say that as I had said the exact some thing to my friendwho the site is for. I prefer 1&1.

Is there no 'easy' way around it?

Sounds like Yahoo hosting isn't geared for using modern technology yet.

If your website only had a handful of static .html files, then using an "ssl" folder to store just the pages you want to serve over SSL would be fine. That's how they did websites 20 years ago. But for a dynamic scripted site like Zen Cart, something modern is needed.
