I am unable to insert option values

:huh:After inserting option name, I am unable to insert option values. When I click insert, a new blank page appears with the following text “WARNING: An Error occurred, please refresh the page and try again.”. I have already emptied cache and refreshed but problem is still there. It happens if or not i insert anything into the value box. It was working well. However I deleted an older option name yesterday. whats the problem ?

Re: I am unable to insert option values

http://www.zen-cart.com/showthread.p...25#post1154025 does not look like my error message. I don't think it is related to my error. I am using version 1.5.0 and I get only the message - “WARNING: An Error occurred, please refresh the page and try again.”. That is all.

Re: I am unable to insert option values

You'll need to find out what's throwing the 404-not-found messages.
Zen Cart doesn't do that unless you're actually trying to visit a page that doesn't exist.

And the 404.shtml message is a result of the webserver trying to point people to a custom error message in your own 404.shtml file instead of displaying the server's default 404 message. Don't worry about 404.shtml not being found. Find out why a 404 was triggered in the first place.

Re: I am unable to insert option values

the message appears only when i press the insert button in the options value manager. everything else works. for example option name buttons, attribute controller works fine but unable to add a value. I have done some minor modifications to the style sheet and a few php files for better visual layout. where do you think the problem might be ?

Re: I am unable to insert option values

Almost certainly it would be back to the same page you came in on. Most admin pages do that.

Or maybe you're using outdated files from an addon, which don't have the security protections added in v1.5.0 and thus for your own safety it's attempting to redirect you to your admin home page and then getting tripped up somewhere there by other changes you've got in your site.

Here's where I'd start: http://www.zen-cart.com/wiki/index.php/Troubleshoot_-_Diagnosing_Obscure_Issues

Re: I am unable to insert option values

using WinMerge I have already compared the following files with the original Zen cart installation files in the admin, but they are identical.

attributes_controller.php
configuration.php
downloads_manager.php
index.php
option_name.php
option_values.php
options_name_manager.php
options_values_manager.php

The problem happens only when I press the insert button in the option values. All other buttons work well. So Mysql should be running well in the system. I did not do any major modifications to any of the files. The only add-on is the html text editor which i doubt is causing the problem. So the problem should have happened automatically. If the problem might be in the

  1. configure.php or

  2. syntax error in MySQL statements

  3. I don’t have a backup of the configure.php file to compare with. Where can I get it ?

  4. Obviously there should be only a few places to look for a syntax error in MySQL statements that is specific to the option values “insert” button. Where should I look ?

Any other information would be great.
