How can I show related products and additional images?

Hello,

Here is my problem I am trying to find a way to either add related products to one product so for instance if I have a red belt and a black belt and id like to display the red belt. How can I also show the image of the black belt somewhere at say the bottom of the page? Is there a way to link the products together thru the backend system that Im missing. Or is there a way to manipulate "The customers who bought this product also bought this": as that does what Im looking for and has other products at the bottom but unless I buy all of my over 16,000 products Im not sure how to use this feature to fix my problem!

Thank you for your time and response!
