Change Background (or anything else) on Main Page ONLY

OK. so I have read the read.me in the css folder, and I have been to the thread:

But I am still not completely clear about what the .css file for the main page ONLY should be named.

is it index.css ?

Thanks.  That specific line is not in my readme in Ver 1.5.1 (or 1.3.8a).

The top of my v1.5.1 test site's CSS_read_me.txt:

The CSS files are sent to the browser in this order: (and alphabetically within each case of more than one match):

             style*.css   // are always loaded and at least ONE should contain site-wide properties.
language_stylesheet.css   // changes to ALL pages, when that language is used
         index_home.css   // specifically affects the home page only

Oops. I was looking at includes\templates\classic\css

I thought they would (should) be the same.

They should. Actually, I believe I read that CSS_read_me.txt was moved (from /classic/ to /template_default/) recently. Is your site upgraded? If so, there might be an old version of the file in /classic/ that was not replaced or deleted by the moved version of the file.
