Model Numbers.....Do I need them?

I don't use model numbers in my business, just product id numbers, so can I leave the model number field blank? Or would that cause a problem?

It's better to use this feature - especially if you later want to use bulk-update and bulk-add features such as Easy Populate / Apsona. Also, you will need this for many Google features and services (Google Merchant Centre). Google will give you better "ranking points" if you stipulate a product "model" or part number (such as a valid UPC, EAN or ISBN in the case of published works.
