1.3.9d - 1.5.1 error while upgrading

get the following database errors when upgrading

SKIPPED: Cannot DROP column admin_level because it does not exist.
SKIPPED: Cannot DROP column admin_level because it does not exist.
SKIPPED: Cannot drop index page_accessed on table admin_activity_log because it does not exist.
SKIPPED: Cannot drop index access_date on table admin_activity_log because it does not exist.

didn't recieve any upgrade complete statments but did get a load of statments processed messages.

clicked the recheck and the upgrade tick boxes disappeared.

when i go to my cart it tries to run the upgrade again.

should i just assume its upgraded and delete the zc-install folder and move on?

kitcorsa:

get the following database errors when upgrading

SKIPPED: Cannot DROP column admin_level because it does not exist.
SKIPPED: Cannot DROP column admin_level because it does not exist.
SKIPPED: Cannot drop index page_accessed on table admin_activity_log because it does not exist.
SKIPPED: Cannot drop index access_date on table admin_activity_log because it does not exist.

Those aren't 'Errors' as such. It is just a report that those commands to drop the tables were skipped, which is to be expected with this particular upgrade.
They can be ignored.

If you try to upgrade again (to the same version) these 'Errors' will go away because the columns would exist as a result of the 1st upgrade.

kitcorsa:

when i go to my cart it tries to run the upgrade again.

Offhand I can't recall the reason for this. (incorrect table prefix?) It does suggest something is amiss though (unrelated to the 'errors' above).

kitcorsa:

should i just assume its upgraded and delete the zc-install folder and move on?

If the upgrade was successful you would/should have been greeted with a message telling you to delete this folder (as well as renaming your admin folder). If you didn't get these messages then you shouldn't delete the zc_install folder because you will be needing it again. Something has gone wrong with the upgrade.

Cheers
Rod

Re: 1.3.9d - 1.5.1 error while upgrading

what i did was the 1.3.9 - 1.5.0 again

then

1.5.0 - 1.5.1

and it moved on to finish, renamed admin, renamed install (as im on test server and may need to upgrade database again when importing live db), click show store front and get the install page welcome to zencart page, you are seeing this page becuase... again... same when i try going to my new admin screen.

The "one or more reasons" is important information. Especially the 3rd reason if a 3rd one is given.

Chances are it couldn't write to your configure.php files successfully. Or you've edited their contents incorrectly.

You didn't say whether your fresh install of 1.5.1 had the same symptoms before you imported or not.

1.5.1 fresh install went without a hitch... was only the upgrade that failed.

Putting it off for now as other things have taken up my time.... ie customers
