Can I mix several products up to a min quantity directly?

Is there a way to establish a minimum quantity of say 500, but that minimum can be a mix different products?

for instance I have several products that need to be purchased in minimums of 500 units, mixed or not. So what I want to know if it's possible to create this directly or we need an add on? or special configuration?

What I want is this I have product A, product B, product C, they can be purchased if a minimum quantity of 500 units, separately or a in mix of them, is reached. product A 50 units, product B 350 units, product C 100 units, total 500 units. that will be the minimum because this is a B2B operation only

This would require custom coding and I have not seen it anywhere yet

my guess you would have to custom code the shopping cart code to count the total number of itema in the cart and only display/allow checkout if the value is greater than 500.

as a dirty(ish) solution and to point you in a possible direction. Check out the Minimum Order Mod. it works in a similar way where it check order total value before allowing checkout..

Perhaps you could copy the method/logic and apply the total items in cart to it?

Thanks for the pointer! I'll look into that, I was examining different scripts, it's not really hard if you have the foundation, but you have to be familiar as how each script is tight to each other ... The Minimum Order mod is a good start. I will study that. Well usually i work with a copy locally and if i have problems I uploaded to test site, and keep track of the changes and read the logs, to see if something is missing from my logic.
