Category title not showing when description is entered

I have a problem I noticed. When i add meta descriptions to the Categories, but leave the meta title empty, the default meta title is NOT displaying, it's simply showing "Untitled" When I do this same thing to the products themselves, the default titles show.

Is there a way to ONLY add the meta description manually on the categories themselves and still have the default meta title show, or if I add the meta descriptions, am I required to also manually add the meta title tag?

For the meantime, I deleted the meta descriptions so that the title's show, but I'd prefer to have a custom meta descriptions while using the default meta title.
