Pay by invoice?

Hi all;

Have an off the wall question.
Can I set up my cart to take orders that would go into my Admin section without using a payment gateway and simply invoice my customer?
Why you may ask?
Because I can't stand PayPal
And no matter what amount of searching, posting and trying, I cannot get Google Checkout to work correctly as far as shipping (sorry not shipping to your region) and accepting payments (sorry not accepting payments from your region) I'm done. I'm over it.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,
KJ

Re: Pay by invoice?

Thanks guys for getting back. Most appreciated.
Keep the options coming .... Always like lots of options :D

Basically what I'd like to do is this example :

Person comes to site. Finds dress they want. Fill in all the options. Hit "Add to Cart"
Come to "Checkout Page" Hit "Go to Checkout" Go to "Log in" or "Create Account"
Etc Etc Etc .... Hit "Submit Order" Customer sees "Thank you for your order. You will receive an invoice blah blah blah"
The order goes to Admin. I go to Google Checkout to send invoice with payment instructions etc. I get money, customer gets item. Everybody happy :cool:

Or a close facsimile there of ....

Thanks gilby. I have Google Checkout installed but can't get it to work.
I'll use their invoicing system but that would be about it.

Re: Pay by invoice?

Hi

I am new here so be nice :)

I am using Zen Cart 1.5.1 & have not yet gone live.
I installed this invoice addon, see below;
*Invoice Payment Module for ZenCart 1.3

Released under the GNU General Public License

Author: Scott Wilson, 8 July 2006

Zen Forum PM swguy*

Works fine but if I understand correctly I have to select the customers who can use this by adding them to the "invoice" group?

I would like to offer this "pay by invoice" to all customers. Is there some way that I can by default add all customers to this group "invoice" even new customers when they join? I do not plan to offer discounts to these customers.

Thanks for help.

Re: Pay by invoice?

Thinking about it & after some research I suppose I could disable the check that groups start with "invoice" to always give a "true" answer?

Re: Pay by invoice?

Modify includes/modules/payment/invoice.php and remove the function update_status (lines 47-71). Replace with

    function update_status() {
          $this->enabled = true;
    }

Re: Pay by invoice?

Great that works fine (of course)

Thank you for your lightning fast reply. My apologies for my late reply; I assumed I would get an email notification when somebody replied but it did not happen - probably I failed to configure it :(.

Re: Pay by invoice?

Hi

This worked fine until this week; last time I was sure it worked OK was last Friday (12th July) when a customer paid by invoice.

Problem is now when I am in the shopping cart & click on checkout then it just brings up the shopping cart page again (no error message); I tried "opening in a new tab" & I get the shopping cart page again. I have 2 languages English & German; same problem in both.
I have a Paypal button & that works OK.

I checked the error logs; nothing logged.

I re-installed the "Pay by invoice" & also re-installed the "checkout_shipping.php" from back up.

I am using v1.5.1 standard template with the following add-ons
Quantities by option
German language
Pay by invoice

I checked all my server folders & I do not see I made any changes since last Friday.

Any tips on where to look next would be much appreciated or even better an idea of what is wrong. :)
I suppose I could have changed a configuration somewhere??

Please close this ; I found a problem in my options which caused the "empty cart" question to click in :(
